Tips to qualify SSC CGL Tier-I exam 2021 successfully
For all Government job aspirants, SSC CGL (Combined Graduate Level) exam is one of the important examinations conducted by SSC in India. There are four sections in SSC CGL Tier I exam such as General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude and English Comprehension. The candidate’s aptitude and capabilities will be tested with total of 100 questions where each section will have 25 questions. The question paper will be in mode of objective type questions where each question will have multiple choices in answer section. There will be 2 marks for every correct answer and 0.5 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer. SSC CGL Tier-I will be of 1 hour (60 minutes) duration where candidates will have to solve 100 questions with maximum accurateness to get qualified.
The students are expected to plan a preparation strategy for the examination day and should distribute 1 hour (60 minutes) for all sections sensibly. The students should allocate 25 minutes to Quantitative Aptitude Section (toughest section), 15 minutes to General Intelligence & Reasoning Ability Section, 10 minutes to General Awareness Section and English Comprehension Section. Therefore, the students have to work really hard in speed of answering questions correctly and try to score maximum out of their delivered efforts. The paramount strategy to solve question paper confidently will be attempting easiest questions first and then move towards moderate to difficult questions. In General Intelligence and Reasoning section, the students should play major importance to topics like Semantic Analogy, Series and Semantic Classification, Symbolic/Number Analogy, Venn Diagrams, Puzzles, Symbolic/Number Classification, Figural Pattern – folding and completion, Mirror Image, Ranking, Water Images, Number Series, Coding and de-coding, Problem Solving and Data sufficiency.
In Quantitative Aptitude Section, the important topics to prepared are Decimal and Fractions, Relationship between numbers, Ratio and Proportion, Square roots, Averages, Number System, Interest (Simple and Compound), Time and distance, Time and work, Use of Tables and Graphs: Histogram, Frequency polygon, Bar-diagram, Pie-chart. In preparing English section, the important topics to be studied thoroughly are Fill in the Blanks, Spellings/ Detecting Errors, Idioms & Phrases, Cloze Passage, Comprehension Passage, One-word substitution.
The students should work painstakingly in polishing their reading skills, vocabulary usage and grammatical skills to master these topics. The students should grow a habit of becoming daily reader of high-quality English literature which primarily includes reading daily English newspapers, informative magazines and websites etc. For preparing General Awareness Section, the significant topics are Science (Biology, Physics, Chemistry), static GK, Economy, Computers, Indian History and Culture, Geography, Polity, Miscellaneous GK topics etc.
After covering the entire syllabus, the students should practice hard on quizzes on every topic and strive to attempt maximum online mock tests to self-analysis their level of performances.
