Mistakes to avoid while preparing for SSC CGL EXAM

SSC CGL EXAM is one of the most preferred exams conducted by SSC. Millions of aspirants apply for the exam but only handful among them qualifies it. It is because a large amount of candidates commit several mistakes while preparing for the exam which jeopardizes their selection chances in their first attempt. In case candidates focus on these common mistakes which they commit unknowingly while preparing then they are sure to get success in SSC CGL EXAM.
Some of the common yet significant factors which an aspirant of SSC CGL EXAM must take care are:
1.      Students are seen refereeing more than one resource book to study. It is a big mistake that they do because it confuses them to a great extent. Every author has different ways to explain the concept. Reading one topic from various books at the same time leaves them in quandary. Try to avoid such mistake. It is highly recommended to follow one resource book while rest of the books can work like reference books.
2.      While attempting mock tests, the candidates undermine the significance of “Time Management Skills”. Time management is the key to attempt the question paper effectively. If the practice is done without setting the timer then it will severely affect the performance in the examination. They will not be able to attempt the question paper in time.
3.      On the exam day, every aspirant fear without reason while attempting difficult questions. It is a basic trend that every exam follows therefore one need not worry while looking at the complex questions. You can avoid such questions and keep solving the questions which are within your reach. Once you are trapped in any such difficult question, it will shun down your confidence and your performance will be affected.
4.      It is generally observed that aspirants devote more time to mathematics or English and avoid other subjects. It is not a healthy practice. Make your study plan so that you can give equal time to all the subjects because your overall percentage or score is considered and not of one or two sections. Work hard in a balanced way.
5.      Students avoid practicing after covering the topic thinking that they will be able to attempt correctly in the exam. Practice makes a man perfect and everything needs practice to be perfect. Subjects like Mathematics and Reasoning needs lot of practice, practice at least 50 to 100 questions from the previous year question bank to master the topic.
6.      Last few days are very significant before the exam; keep them for the basic needs and documents you need for the exam. Download admit card and procure voter ID to be carried along with you on the examination day. Without these documents you will not be allowed to enter into the examination hall. Do not wait for the last day as you may find the website or server to be overloaded and hence you are not able to get the admit card in time.
7.      Internet savvy candidates involve themselves in social networking like Whats App, Facebooking, Chatting etc. which wastes their precious time. It is advisable to avoid all type of social media sites and Apps and contemplate more on studies.
8.      Learn short cuts and trick but understand the basics first. At times, these short tricks backfire and you tend to lose marks. Do not follow any short trick without having enough basic knowledge about the concept on which it is based.
