Sectional strategy for SSC CGL Exam
 Reasoning
ü Reasoning tests your decision-making skills & problem-solving ability. This isn’t the kind of skill one can master in one or two days.
ü  It takes time to master the “Reasoning section” and the only way it can be achieved is through consistency & daily practice.
ü  Practice a variety of questions from different topics.
ü  Attempt number of mock test or PYQ’s
ü Try and solve at least 40-50 Reasoning questions every day.
ü Try to attempt at least 20 questions in 15-20 minutes with great accuracy.

General Awareness
ü The General Awareness section can be attempted quickly with great accuracy as it is less time-consuming.
ü This section does not require any calculations and hence there are very fewer chances of getting a negative marking.
ü Read newspapers daily for current affairs.
ü Subscribe to magazines like Yojana or Pratiyogita Darpan to review weekly news to stay updated.
ü Take online Daily GK Quizzes and refer to IBT GK Dose (English/Hindi) for Static GK.
ü Attempt at least 40-50 GK questions daily & try and solve them within 30 minutes.
ü  Pay special attention to Static GK & Science sections of General Awareness as most questions are based on those.


Quantitative Aptitude
ü Quant requires more time than other sections during preparation.
ü Quantitative Aptitude tests your ability to solve number problems appropriately.
ü The Quant section will contain questions that are of 10th grade, though they’re a bit more complex in nature.
ü Start your preparation, by firstly brushing up your basics using NCERT Math’s textbook of 8th to 10th grade.
ü Learn tables 1 to 20, cube & square roots; learn formulas and time-saving tricks.
ü Maintain a practice notebook to note down all the important formulas and shortcut techniques you learn for further revision purposes.
ü Focus on Advanced Quant topics like Geometry, Trigonometry, Algebra, etc.
ü Give the Quant section at least 2-3 hours of preparation time daily.

English Language
ü There are three basic sections you need to master for the English Language and those are: Vocabulary, Grammar and Text Comprehension.
ü To improve your vocabulary, read daily newspapers like The Hindu, The Indian Express & whenever you come across a new word, look it up the dictionary immediately. Jot down its meaning and also look up the synonyms and antonyms of the word.
ü  Use such words in your daily conversations to build vocabulary.
ü  Refer to ‘Daily Vocab Dose’ by IBT for a better vocabulary.
ü Mnemonic techniques help in remembering vocabulary in a better way.
ü Brush up your Basic English grammar; refer to by IBT
ü Develop a regular reading habit to enhance your comprehensive skills.
ü Read a variety of texts, like biography, books, newspapers, and magazines.
ü Learn the fast reading concept, by clubbing two-three words at a time and avoid sub vocalization.
