1. Adding new words to your Vocabulary
2. Revising the meanings of words learnt by you and added by you

To start with, we will add ways and means of adding new words and this addition of words has to be done on daily basis. While reading newspapers or any other superior form of literature, the students are supposed to add new words which should be typical, significant, peculiar, archetypical or informative in nature. Before examination day, the students are advised to learn at least 3000 plus new words to their vocabulary. The learning process has to unending, consistent and regular from the day one of your preparation. After figuring out typical words from different types of articles do find out their meanings from dictionary and try to list out their synonyms and antonyms.

In many cases, there might be possibilities that a word may have many meanings and so students are advised to understand the gist of the article properly to figure out accurate meaning of the word. After learning its meaning, the students should stress hard on its pronunciation and its usage in making sentences. Furthermore, do try to understand the source or basis of the word and try to figure out similar words or words with similar meaning. This strategy will work like an added bonus to your word-power.

The second fundamental aspect of improvising Vocabulary skills is revising the meanings of words learnt by you and added by you. This aspect is very significant as human brain has limited memorizing power and words might disappear from student’s memory easily. There might be possibilities that students might forget the words and their meanings in earlier stages and might get discouraged. The most methodical mode of preparation is to revise the meanings of the words on a regular basis as this will enhance your memorizing skills to the greatest extent. It implies that the learning process has to be consistent as well as regular to polish your English reading, writing, and speaking skills. It will not uplift your spirits in the exams but will also be helpful to you in your personal and professional lives.

As far as revising the learnt words are concerned, the students are supposed to develop habit of reading lots of articles from informative magazines, daily newspapers, books, novels etc.  The informative articles have to be based on current affairs, politics, sports, literature, economics, banking etc. While reading mixed bag of articles, the students might come across a range of typical words which will be having a strong social, political or geographical relevance to the present world. For preparing banking exams, the students should become regular reader of economic newspapers (The Economic Times),
websites (Money Control), which will keep you updated on latest developments in financial and banking world. This appropriate strategy will not only enhance your Vocabulary skills but will also help you in preparing General Awareness section, which is most significant section of all types of competitive exam. After short listing a variety of words and understanding their meaning and relevance, you should try to make sentences and try to speak these words and sentences fluently. In your daily life, do try to use these words in all types of activities like watching movies, talking to colleagues, friends or relatives, interacting on social media etc. The regular practice of using these words will enhance your Vocabulary skills as well as morale to the highest extent.
